The decline from a year earlier reflects uncertainty about prices of petroleum products, a cooling off of economic growth and the onset of warmer weather, the American Petroleum Institute reported. The oil industry group also said overall oil consumption in the United States slipped 0.7% last month. Imports fell to a daily average of 4.461 million barrels of oil in March from 5.105 million a year earlier. For the first three months of the year, imports plunged 21% to a daily average of 4.159 million barrels from 5.264 million.
