$10 Million Granted to College, Church From Keck Trusts

Pomona College and the Church of Our Savior in San Gabriel have been awarded more than $10 million from trusts established by the late William M. Keck, founder of Superior Oil Co. Pomona College, one of five schools at the Claremont Colleges, received $6.9 million. The church received $3.54 million.
Other beneficiaries were Stanford University, the University of Southern California and Occidental College.
The awards were made during a final distribution of assets from five Keck trusts that totaled more than $40 million. Despite the termination of the trusts, the W. M. Keck Foundation and W. M. Keck Trust continue to grant awards from more than $500 million in combined assets to selected educational organizations nationwide.
