Nuclear Plant to Open

MEXICO CITY —
Mexico’s first nuclear power plant will begin supplying electricity to the eastern state of Veracruz by the middle of 1987, the Federal Electricity Commission has announced. A commission spokesman said the nuclear plant in Laguna Verde, about 240 miles east of Mexico City, will include two facilities each with a capacity of 650,000 kilowatts.
