MADRID —
An alleged Basque separatist extradited from France seven months ago was convicted Monday of participating in the 1980 killing of two paramilitary guards and was sentenced to 54 years in prison.
The national court sentenced Francisco Javier Lujambio Galdeano to two consecutive prison terms of 27 years each.
Two other alleged members of the Basque separatist organization, ETA, were acquitted by the same court last week on charges stemming from another attack.
