Advanced Micro set a companywide vacation time.

The vacation period for Advanced Micro Devices of Sunnyvale, Calif., is expected to allow the closing of most domestic operations, which would balance production with current demand. Domestic employee vacation time will be consolidated for five days during the last week of June and three days during the first week of July; July 4 and 5 already are scheduled as holidays. Operations necessary to meet customer requirements will be excluded from the June shutdown. Sales and sales-support personnel also will be excluded. The company will advance vacation days to those employees who do not have sufficient accrued vacation.
