Memorial for Brazilian President-Elect Slated

A Los Angeles memorial service for Brazilian President-elect Tancredo de Almeida Neves, who died last Sunday, will be conducted Monday at 10:30 a.m. in Cathedral Chapel of St. Vibiana, 927 S. La Brea Ave., it was announced by the Brazilian consulate.
Neves, 75, died after undergoing seven operations since March 14, the day before he was scheduled to be inaugurated.
