A longtime Los Angeles-area executive has joined Bateman Eichler, Hill Richards as head of the corporate finance division, the brokerage house announced Wednesday.

Bruce C. Juell’s appointment as an executive vice president is part of a continuing reorganization of upper-level management, a spokesman said.

Juell, 51, and six other executive vice presidents--three of whom have been named since December--report directly to John R. Bolin, chairman, president and chief executive. Bolin was named to those posts last August. Juell had previously served as president of La Jolla-based Kratos, an engineering supply and precision-instrument company, where he remains as chairman of the executive committee.

Over the last decade he has been president and chief executive of Olson Farms, First City Properties, First Wilshire Securities Management and Great Southwest.

Bateman Eichler was acquired in 1982 by Kemper, an Illinois insurance and financial-services conglomerate.
