Commentary : How Important Is Mom? Ask a Kid

If you want to know how important a mother is, what better way to find out than to ask a child. So we did. We went to Scott Paulsen, principal of the California School in Costa Mesa, and he posed the question to some of his students. Here are their responses, as they wrote them.

If there were no mothers . . . no babies. No babies . . . no kids. No kids . . . no new ideas. No new ideas . . . a very boring world!

They can cook better than men. They can bring people into the world. They can wear dresses. They can wear ribbons in their hair. They can wear earrings. They are pretty. They can also wear make-up. They take good, good, care of children. They are always sweet and kind.

They love us. They work to buy us clothes and food. They teach. They help us with projects. They help us with our homework. They help us with the problems we have. They cook for us. They help us make foods. They make clothes for us. They play games with us.
