Miss USA Crown Goes to Student From El Paso

LAKELAND, Fla. — Laura Herring, a 21-year-old from El Paso, tearily accepted the 1985 Miss USA crown Monday night.
The winner, who, in addition to English, speaks both Spanish and French, is a student at Aiglon College in Switzerland and has been a social worker in India. She will represent the United States in the Miss Universe Pageant in Miami July 15.
