Thirty people showed symptoms of Legionnaires’ disease after attending a dinner at a suburban Detroit hotel, and 10 of them have been hospitalized, health officials said today.

One Detroit man, believed to be the only confirmed case, was in critical condition today at Detroit Osteopathic Hospital, said hospital spokesman Bob Blair.

Dr. Donald Lawrenchuk, Wayne County medical director, said health officials would try to track down an estimated 350 people who attended the April 27 banquet at the Hilton Airport Inn in Romulus. He said about 150 had been contacted so far.
