Scientologists Ready to Protest

PORTLAND, Ore. —
Dozens of buses carrying Church of Scientology protesters left for Salem today for a march on the state Capitol and a rally against a jury’s $39-million fraud award to an ex-member.
About 2,000 Scientologists and supporters from around the world have gathered in Oregon for a week of protest rallies. Their aim, they said, was to persuade the trial judge to overrule the jury’s verdict.
