Britain Posting Guards to Save Rarest Orchids

LONDON —
The government’s environmental watchdog group has organized a round-the-clock guard to save some of Britain’s rarest orchids.
The Nature Conservancy Council, backed by the World Wildlife Fund, said local conservation trusts are employing wardens to “deter plant thieves and misguided gardeners from digging up the orchids and to persuade visitors not to pick them or trample on them.”
