A retired Martinez businessman has sued his travel agency because the Swiss and Austrian Alps were bare of snow last Dec. 4 when he arrived for his dream vacation. Sid Davis, who said he lost 20 pounds and spent $800 on equipment for the $3,000 trip, filed a $50,000 lawsuit against Alamo World Travel & Tours, alleging the agency “failed to check the conditions . . . which prevented him from skiing.” Travel agency owner Bill Ferguson responded that, “We can’t guarantee any weather conditions and we don’t predict the weather.”
