NAACP Chapter Honors Bishop Tutu
South African Bishop Desmond Tutu, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize this year, received a Roy Wilkins Memorial Award for humanitarianism from the Los Angeles chapter of the National Assn. for the Advancement of Colored People.
The bishop could not attend the Monday night awards dinner personally, so the prize was received by one of his daughters, Mpho Tutu, who has been studying in the United States.
