Thatcher Holds Talks With Chinese Premier

LONDON — Chinese Premier Zhao Ziyang held talks Monday with Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher at the start of a weeklong visit expected to center on economic cooperation and improved trade.
Thatcher received Zhao in the courtyard of the Foreign Office in a ceremony usually reserved for heads of state.
Later, the two heads of government signed an economic cooperation agreement and an accord to cooperate on the peaceful uses of nuclear energy.
