Riot Blamed on Tories

PARIS —
French Culture Minister Jack Lang blames British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher’s policies for last week’s soccer riot in Brussels in which 38 people died. Speaking on television Monday night, Lang said, “If Britain’s young hooligans are prone to such violence, it’s because of the kind of economic system Thatcher has created that liquidates national companies and leaves thousands of young people with no hope.”
