The Region : L.A. County Hires Franchetti as Lobbyist
- Share via
Former state finance director Michael Franchetti was hired by Los Angeles County as a financial consultant and lobbyist under a one-year, $36,000 contract approved by the Board of Supervisors. The board voted 3 to 1 to hire Franchetti, who will focus his attention on explaining the county’s fiscal picture to the Deukmejian Administration. Franchetti was Gov. George Deukmejian’s temporary finance director until January, 1984, but left the Administration after failing to win confirmation to the post from the state Senate. Opposed to Franchetti’s hiring was Supervisor Kenneth Hahn.
