A public forum to improve child care services in Orange County will be held Monday at the county Hall of Administration in Santa Ana.

Sponsored by the Orange County Commission on the Status of Women, the forum will include about 25 speakers from different child care and development programs, and other groups. The public is invited to give three-minute testimonies during a program that will include discussion on day care centers and the recent insurance rate increases they face, according to Anna Phillips, the commission’s executive director.

The information gathered during the meeting that begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Planning Commission chambers will be compiled with recommendations in a report to the county Board of Supervisors, Phillips said.

In a July, 1984, report to the supervisors, the commission said there are 50,582 working women with children under 6 years old in Orange County.
