Concerning the report on Fullerton’s fraternity goings-on (May 19), the exclamation reported as coming from one of the residents: “When I say I am surprised, I am surprised.”
It reminds me of an anecdote dealing with Daniel Webster’s defining terms while having his fun. This goes that while dallying with a handsome beauty, her husband appeared and exclaimed: “Why Mr. Webster! I am surprised!” “No,” said Daniel Webster, “I am surprised, you are astonished!”
