Park Hill Single-Family Homes Open Today in San Bernardino

The planned community of Park Hill, comprising 42 single-family houses priced from $69,900 to $86,000, opens today at 2811 Park Haven Drive in San Bernardino.

The Canady & Co. project offers homes in one two-story and two one-story floor plans and nine exterior stylings, with such features as covered entries, fan-shaped, arched and multipaned windows, brick and stucco detailing and attached two-car garages.

The two- or three-bedroom interiors, with two or 2 1/2 baths, are highlighted by sloping ceilings, wood-burning fireplaces with glass doors and masonry hearths, garden-view dining rooms, greenhouse kitchen windows and, in one plan, a breakfast/serving bar.

Energy savings are promised by dual-glazed windows, weatherstripping, R-19 ceiling and R-11 wall insulation, and pilotless furnace and water-heater ignition. Front yards are landscaped and sprinklered while side and rear yards are fenced.

More than 40% of the 10-acre site is reserved for open space and recreation, including a swimming pool with cabana, trellised shade area, outdoor barbecues, sand volleyball court and children’s play yard with equipment. Those amenities are expected to be completed in midsummer, and homeowners association fees are expected to be $49 a month.

Move-ins for the first phase of 20 are planned for early fall. Financing plans include FHA and VA as well as county bond financing for first-time buyers. Three decorated models are open daily except Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to dusk.
