Hong Kong took over the Overseas Trust Bank.
In a move to protect Hong Kong’s financial sector, the colony’s government will become full owner of the ailing bank, which declared itself insolvent and was shut down amid government accusations of major fraud. The bank, which has a branch in San Francisco, will be reopened today with the colony’s monetary secretary as chairman.
