A jury was unable to decide whether Stockton Mayor Randall Ronk was guilty of poaching deer, but did convict him of improperly using deer tags. Ronk was fined $170 on the misdemeanor count, and Amador County Justice Court Judge Don Howard dismissed two counts on which the jury failed to agree unanimously. The poaching case had been delayed while Ronk faced charges in Stockton of defrauding the city of $3,100 in travel claims for trips he never took. A jury acquitted the 30-year-old mayor of that charge, but the City Council ruled that Ronk had violated the City Charter. Another council hearing is scheduled July 3 to decide what to do about it.
