There are about 650 Los Angeles County employees who are $200 or more behind in child-support payments, according to Dist. Atty. Ira Reiner. However, in a June 5 letter obtained by the news media, Reiner cautioned that the figure is only a preliminary number. County Supervisor Kenneth Hahn on May 24 had requested that Reiner’s office determine how many county employees have not paid child support. The one-page letter did not name the employees.
