Testimony on Aquino Stricken

MANILA —
In a major setback for the prosecution, the court trying armed forces chief General Fabian Ver dismissed as evidence today his testimony before an earlier inquiry which led to his indictment on charges of covering up the murder of opposition leader Benigno S. Aquino Jr.
The ruling, citing constitutional right against self-incrimination, was regarded as a victory for President Ferdinand Marcos’ ally, who had testified three times last year before the civilian panel.
