South African troops crossed into neighboring Botswana and attacked and destroyed targets--houses and offices of the African National Congress--in the capital of Gaborone, Radio South Africa reported. The radio quoted the chief of the South African armed forces, Gen. Constand Viljoen, as saying the targets were scattered throughout the capital. The attack was the latest in a series of cross-border raids by South African forces against sanctuaries of the rebel group.
