Redondo Beach : Site Being Cleared for $46-Million Sheraton
- Share via
Demolition of shops and restaurants at the so-called “Triangle” shopping area near King Harbor began this week to make way for a $46-million Sheraton hotel.
Chuck Johnston, a partner in the Redondo Beach Hotel Assn., developers of the site, said construction of the 353-room hotel should begin by the end of next month.
The City Council approved the redevelopment project in late 1983, nearly a decade after plans first were proposed. The Triangle area is bounded by Catalina Avenue, Harbor Drive, Pacific Avenue and Beryl Street.
