County supervisors have awarded a $482,105 contract to J. F. Slaughter Ltd. of Signal Hill to construct a backup valve control system for Puddingstone Dam at Frank G. Bonelli Regional County Park in San Dimas. The project will permit the county to repair a leaking control valve without draining the reservoir. The work will not begin for nearly a year, until May 1, 1986. A Public Works Department spokesman said the project is being delayed to avoid construction during the rainy season.
