Agoura Hills Puts Off Industrial Park Vote

Share

The Agoura Hills City Council early Thursday postponed action on a request to build a $75-million industrial park until it can obtain more environmental data on the disputed 35-acre project.

Council members said they will resume their review of developer Gerald Katell’s plans on July 10.

The delay was approved at the conclusion of a 5 1/2-hour public hearing marked by appeals from homeowners for the redesign of the seven-building project to lessen its environmental effect. Residents urged that an oak-lined arroyo on Katell’s property be preserved.

Katell asked that the project be approved on grounds that its high-tech design would benefit Agoura Hills and prevent piecemeal development. The hilly grazing land is next to the Ventura Freeway about 10 miles west of the San Fernando Valley.
