Transfers of Apartments Up in San Diego

A total of 2,446 apartment units changed hands in January in San Diego County, the highest number of transfers in four years there and a 28% increase over the 1,905 transfers in January, 1984.

John Burnham & Co.'s monthly apartment survey added that the January, 1985, total was exceeded only by the 2,829 and 3,634 units transferred in November and December, 1984, respectively.

Condominium construction remained about the same, Burnham said, with new permits issued for 375 units with a valuation of $20,832,827, down 3% from the 494 units valued at $21,505,253 started in January, 1984.
