Roman Chosen President of State Mortgage Bankers

Robert W. Roman, president and chief executive officer of Beverly Hills Securities, Encino, has been elected president of the California Mortgage Bankers Assn.

The group’s new president has also served as president, treasurer and director for the Southern California Mortgage Bankers Assn. and has been a member of various committees serving the industry.

Elected with Roman at the group’s recent annual convention in Monterey were Scott F. Calder, director of investments for Coldwell Banker Real Estate Finance Services, Los Angeles, first vice president; Michael E. Corsetti, vice president with Norris, Beggs & Simpson, San Francisco, second vice president; George E. Francis, executive vice president at Lomas & Nettleton Co., Panorama City, secretary, and Lee R. McNutt, president of All Valley Mortgage, Fresno, treasurer.

Directors include Richard L. Mower of Crocker Mortgage Co., San Diego, and immediate past president of the association; A. Gary Anderson of Directors Mortgage, Riverside; Norman Richards of First Interstate Mortgage, Pasadena; D. R. Schwartz of Pacific Southwest, San Diego, and Steven H. Hammer of W. Ross Campbell Co., Los Angeles.

Others are George C. Romig of Caldwell Banker Real Estate Finance Services, Los Angeles; Peter Thorp of Churchill Mortgage Corp., Los Angeles; Norman M. Reid of Weherhaueser Mortgage Co., Los Angeles; Barry S. Slatt of Barry S. Slatt Mortgage, San Francisco, and Nelson E. Smith of Colonial Mortgage Service, San Diego.
