Firm Closes Sale of Home Health Unit

National Education Corp., the nation’s largest training company, with worldwide operations in technical and industrial training and educational publishing, on Monday announced completion of the previously reported sale of its home health care operation to Quality Care Inc. of New York for an undisclosed amount of cash.

A spokesman for Newport Beach-based National Education said the company concluded last April that linking home health care with its other lines of business “was not compatible with the long-range growth strategies developed for our education and training operations.” The home health care operation, which provides in-home health care services throughout the Southwest, accounted for $8 million of National Education’s $174 million in revenue in 1984.
