World Coffee Crop May Hit Record, Report Says
Associated Press
WASHINGTON —
World coffee production could rise to a record 99.1 million bags in 1985-86, up 8% from last season’s revised output of 91.8 million bags, the Agriculture Department reported.
The forecast was the first by the USDA for the new season and was included in a routine weekly trade report issued by the department’s Foreign Agricultural Service.
Brazil, the largest producer, is expected to harvest 33 million bags, a 22% increase from 1984-85.
