Lover’s Insurance Must Pay for Woman’s Herpes

MINNEAPOLIS —
A woman who got herpes from her lover has received a $25,000 out-of-court settlement under his homeowner’s insurance coverage, her lawyer said today.
Stewart Perry, attorney for the unidentified woman, said she claimed that the man was negligent in transmitting the contagious disease to her. A spokeswoman for Prudential insurers said the award was made under the liability portion of the man’s policy, which insured him against bodily injury.
