Redondo Beach
The mayor and City Council members will get a 56% pay increase this summer under an ordinance adopted by the City Council this week.
The council voted 4 to 1, with Councilman Ron Cawdrey dissenting, to increase the salaries to $500 a month from $319, effective in August.
The mayor and council received a 5% cost of living increase last year. City Manager Tim Casey said the new increase is allowed under a recent state statute that set new limits on council salaries based on city population.
