Sohio said it will cut 450 jobs at its headquarters.

Cleveland-based Standard Oil of Ohio said severence pay and benefits related to the elimination of the jobs will cost $40 million to $50 million, but the company expects to recoup that amount in payroll savings within two years. Sohio also said it expects an unspecified number of staff reductions in its business groups. At the end of 1984, Sohio employed 44,200.
