A 19-year-old man who escaped from a Los Angeles County juvenile detention camp was sentenced to 17-years-to-life in prison for murdering a 62-year-old Lake Hughes man who lived next door to the facility. Keith Mosley, who was 16 when he killed Phillip Vodon, will serve the first part of his term in a California Youth Authority facility. He will be transferred to state prison when he turns 25, said Deputy Dist. Atty. Kent Cahill, who prosecuted the case. Mosley, who escaped from Camp Mendenhall on Sept. 15, 1983, the day before the slaying, pleaded guilty in January to second-degree murder.
