Minstar Inc., a holding company controlled by financier Irwin L. Jacobs, reported that it is selling the warehouses, about 20% of Bekins’ land holdings, to Newport Beach-based Amerivest for $30 million. The price is a hefty increase over the $13-million value put on all of Bekins’ real estate when Jacobs acquired the nation’s fifth-largest moving company in 1983 for $95 million. The warehouses involved are located in California, Texas and Virginia.
