A 23-year-old man was convicted of four counts of murder Friday in the death of an aspiring actress who was stabbed 21 times on the roof of her Manhattan apartment last December.

A state Supreme Court jury took only six hours to convict Emmanuel Torres, 23, of murder during a robbery, murder during a rape attempt, murder during a sexual assault and intentional murder in the death of Caroline Isenberg.

He could be sentenced to a maximum prison term of 25 years to life.

As the verdict was read, Torres put his hand on the shoulder of his attorney as if to comfort him, then put his arms on the table and lowered his head.

Told he must undergo a psychiatric evaluation before his Aug. 5 sentencing, Torres slammed down his hands and shouted: “I don’t need no shrink!”

Isenberg, 23, a graduate of Harvard, was stabbed as she struggled with her assailant on the rooftop of her apartment on Manhattan’s Upper West Side last Dec. 2.

Neighbors heard her screaming: “He’s stabbing me! He’s going to kill me! Help me!”

Police quoted her as saying: “I should have given him the money. I should have let him do it. I should have given in,” referring to her assailant’s demand for sex. She died during surgery six hours after the attack. Torres was arrested Dec. 6.
