UCI Medical Center: Quality Care in a Teaching Hospital

I feel ill at ease in regards to a reporter’s reference recently to a “humorous” moment pertaining to an obese woman’s treatment at the trauma center at UCI Medical Center.
That aside was insensitive. All I could think of was that woman’s pain and the indignity suffered by her.
An increasing amount of ridicule and ill-regard is being directed toward the overweight woman in this appearance-oriented society. The public must realize that we are people, too, and all equally capable of functioning like a human being. (Some of us may even be unique!)
