In regard to Todd Peterson’s comment (about the “good guy” always winning in police shows, Viewers’ Views, June 16), I cannot fully express my utter disagreement. What do you expect in a television series, that the villain gets away with his immoral and unethical action, thereby defeating the forces signifying justice, be it “Magnum, P.I.,” “Simon & Simon” or “Cagney & Lacey”? If the villain was to win his cause, the television show would affect the criminals in today’s times by setting an example of how crime can and will defeat justice. This would be extremely detrimental to the children of America, as their minds would recall this episode, personally concluding that “crime pays, after all.”
