About 87,000 fake Cabbage Patch dolls and 1,218 counterfeit watches have been seized by U.S. Customs agents in raids at warehouses in Los Angeles, Pasadena and Artesia. Agent Joe Charles said the $1.8-million seizure was among the largest ever of the fake dolls and is part of a continuing regional investigation into the illegal distribution of merchandise protected by copyright and trademark laws. Arrested was Roberto Z. Dipasupil, 40, of Cerritos, for investigation of a single smuggling charge and three counts of illegal possession of firearms. Six firearms, including an Uzi submachine gun, were found during the raids, Charles said.
