Critique of ‘Rambo’ Film

In Goodman’s unfavorable commentary about “Rambo” she says that he is a “hero as primeval as muck,” and that the film is a “piece of propaganda,” that “pushes every fascist button.”

Goodman has a misguided perception of what Rambo represents. In order to help clarify the issue, I offer 10 steps that illustrate what Rambo is for, and what Goodman and her kind are against:

Something as opposed to nothing.

Responsibility rather than default.

Standing instead of crawling.

Success over failure.

Honor as opposed to shame.

Victory rather than defeat.

Resolve over cowardice.

Strength instead of weakness.

Winning as opposed to losing.

Making boots rather than licking them.
