The Food and Drug Administration warned consumers in 13 states that Mexican-style cheese and other dairy products manufactured by the Cacique cheese company of the City of Industry could contain potentially dangerous bacteria. A recall of the products is under way in California and is being expanded to Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Texas and Washington. An FDA spokesman in Washington said the products had been shipped to 1,118 outlets and that about 550,000 pounds of it may still be on store shelves.
