Pictures Worth $1,000 to Aid Africa’s Hungry
More than 25 Southern California models volunteered their services for a benefit “photoshoot” last Saturday in Fullerton’s Hillcrest Park to raise money for hungry people in Africa.
Fifty-six photographers, who each paid an $8 registration fee, participated in the event that lasted from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The photo session attracted a stream of onlookers and raised more than $1,000 from registration fees and donations.
The money was contributed to CARE’s “Campaign for Africa,” the international relief and development organization’s effort in drought-devastated sub-Saharan Africa.
