Iraq said its warships shelled an Iranian oilfield, setting ablaze four wells, a pumping station and a storage tank. The offshore Cyrus Field is connected to Iran’s main oil terminal at Kharg Island by a 45-mile pipeline, shipping sources said. They added that the field, in an Iraqi-proclaimed war zone in the northeast of the Persian Gulf, is old, and they doubt that it is fully operational.
