Yugo cars are on their way to America.

The initial shipment of the first East European cars to be marketed in America left Kragujevac, Yugoslavia, in a blaze of publicity and cheers from U.S. well-wishers. Local workers, U.S. Ambassador John Scanlan and a group of U.S. car dealers sent the first 220 subcompacts on their way.
