Two Green Berets were convicted today of trying to swap stolen Army weapons for drugs and cash from undercover government agents posing as smugglers with Latin American connections.

A federal jury of nine men and three women deliberated for 2 hours and 20 minutes before delivering guilty verdicts against Master Sgt. Keith Anderson, 33, and Sgt. 1st Class Byron Carlisle, 45. U.S. District Judge Norman Roettger did not say when he would sentence the soldiers, who were labeled “black market profiteers” by prosecutors. Anderson faces a sentence of up to 95 years in prison and Carlisle could get an 85-year term.
