A 13-year veteran of the Oceanside Police Department was found guilty Friday of two charges of supplying cocaine to a prostitute and one count of misappropriating police department property.

Patrolman Rex Nemeyer was found innocent of four other drug-delivery charges by the jury in the monthlong trial in Vista Superior Court. Nemeyer, 35, was accused of supplying Roberta Fierro, an admitted prostitute and drug addict, with cocaine five times and with crystal methamphetamine once.

Nemeyer was placed on administrative leave after the Dec. 29 investigation, conducted by members of the district attorney’s office.

The jury failed, however, to reach a verdict on two additional counts of delivering cocaine to Fierro. Judge William H. Kennedy scheduled a new trial on those two charges for Sept. 9.
