A three-judge panel of the District of Columbia court of Appeals ruled 2 to 1 that Georgetown University must grant official recognition to homosexual student groups, as it does other campus organizations. The panel said the anti-discrimination provisions of the district’s Human Riights Act “substantially outweights” any burden on the religions rights of the Roman Catholic institution.
