Prelate Condemns Fast

SAN SALVADOR —
Gregorio Rosa Chavez, auxiliary bishop of San Salvador, has condemned a fast here by about 100 Roman Catholics, who are calling for talks between leftist rebels and the U.S.-backed government. In his weekend sermon, Rosa Chavez said that political fasts are against the teachings of the church.
